If you got a morning jolt of sunshine, rainbows, and silliness when you logged onto Google this morning, there’s a reason: To celebrate the illustrator Roger Hargreaves, who created Mr. Tickle, Little Miss Bossy, and other classic children’s books, the site has a series of illustrations in the style of the British artist. Hargreaves was born on this day in 1935; when he died in 1988, he left behind a wealth of fun cult characters that you probably grew up seeing.
